✨ About The Role
- The Civil Engineering Manager will lead a team of 5-7 civil engineers and oversee day-to-day project development tasks.
- Responsibilities include mentoring and coaching engineers, as well as conducting site reviews and zoning/bylaws assessments.
- The manager will review engineering calculations and design drawings prepared by in-house or external consultants.
- Collaboration with state agencies, towns, and other stakeholders is a key aspect of the role, including presentations to planning and zoning boards.
- The position involves managing survey, environmental, and engineering sub-consultants to ensure project success.
- The manager will assist in the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and engineering standards.
- Continuous improvement and professional development of team members will be a focus of the role.
- The position requires deep collaboration with cross-functional teams, including project development, real estate, project finance, and policy teams.
âš¡ Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, with a master's degree preferred.
- An active Professional Engineer (PE) license is required for this position.
- Candidates should possess 8-15 years of experience in site development, entitlement, and environmental permitting.
- Experience in solar PV or energy storage projects is highly desirable.
- Strong team leadership skills, either through direct or indirect management, are essential for success in this role.
- The candidate should be motivated, detail-oriented, and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and HYDROCAD or equivalent design tools is necessary.
- Excellent communication skills are required to effectively convey design concepts and lead meetings with various stakeholders.
