- This internship position is focused on reviewing applications for tax credits related to renewable energy under the Project Development & Finance group at NREL.
- Interns will engage in analytical support, business case assessments, and market intelligence to assist clients in achieving energy goals.
- The role includes opportunities to work on community-based technical assistance and capacity building projects, both domestically and internationally.
- Interns are expected to work part-time during the school year and can transition to full-time during school breaks.
- The position requires at least 2-3 days of onsite work per week, with the remainder being hybrid.

- The ideal candidate should be a full-time student enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program, demonstrating a strong academic record with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Candidates should possess knowledge and coursework in renewable energy, environmental justice, tax, law, accounting, or engineering.
- Previous work experience related to tax credits will be beneficial for this role.
- A successful candidate will be detail-oriented and capable of reviewing applications for tax credits while making informed recommendations.
- Strong communication skills are essential for participating in meetings and training sessions with senior NREL employees.
