✨ About The Role

- The Optical Systems Engineer will provide technical support during the development of electro-optical instruments for imaging satellites. - Responsibilities include performing analyses to support internal system and mission trades, such as aperture and altitude considerations. - The engineer will review contractor design implementations to ensure compliance with Maxar Intelligence specifications. - Evaluating the performance of optical designs through simulations and calculations will be a key part of the role. - The engineer will also support the Satellite Operations group with commissioning activities, including on-orbit data analysis and image quality assessment.

- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in systems engineering and optics. - A successful applicant will possess skills in image quality metrics and have demonstrated experience with focal plane technologies. - The candidate should be proficient in optical design and analysis software, as well as programming languages such as MATLAB and Python. - Experience in electro-optical testing and analysis approaches is essential for this role. - The individual should have a solid understanding of optical alignment, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
