- The Principal Engineer will oversee the Engineering Design function for Transmission Substations in Strategic Projects, managing design and engineering outputs.
- This role includes establishing EPC design strategies and processes to ensure a consistent approach to consenting and detailed design.
- The postholder will act as a key technical interface with EPC contractors and OEMs, ensuring that substations design deliverables meet required standards.
- The role requires participation in cross-discipline transfer of expertise and leading engineering reviews for design calculations and regulatory submissions.
- The Principal Engineer will represent the strategic engineering position at senior industry, regulatory, and public consultations, ensuring alignment with SPT standards and policies.

- The ideal candidate will have proven experience and expert knowledge in the design of substations and plant engineering at voltages ranging from 33kV to 400kV.
- A strong understanding of Transmission Networks health and safety, as well as technical requirements and compliance, is essential for success in this role.
- The candidate should possess the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating effective prioritization skills.
