- The Engineer I position involves designing and planning pipeline and mechanical systems projects to support natural gas distribution and transmission networks in North Carolina.
- Responsibilities include performing industrial metering design, managing metering applications, and assisting with project drawings.
- The role requires completing cost estimations for gas system facility projects and conducting material evaluations for gas facility products.
- The engineer will coordinate and manage outside engineering resources and develop process and materials standards.
- The position also involves supporting and training other engineers and office staff, as well as developing subject matter expertise in key technical areas.

- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university, preferably in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
- Candidates should possess 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience, making this role suitable for recent graduates or those with limited professional experience.
- Prior experience as an Engineering Co-op or Engineering Intern with a natural gas utility is required, indicating a background in the energy sector.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are essential for effectively collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
- The candidate should demonstrate relevant technical and analytical skills necessary for designing and constructing pipeline facilities.
