- The Senior Attorney will lead complex litigation cases and manage all aspects of the litigation process, including legal research, discovery, and trials.
- This role involves developing legal advocacy strategies in coordination with clients, experts, and partners to support the Gulf Regional Office's goals.
- The attorney will cultivate new partnerships and engage with community groups, Tribal entities, and advocacy organizations.
- Effective communication skills are necessary for articulating litigation goals to the media and serving as a spokesperson for Earthjustice.
- The position includes supervising and mentoring Associate Attorneys and interns, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
⚡ Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate and be admitted or willing to apply for admission to the Texas, Louisiana, or Mississippi State Bar.
- A minimum of 6 years of litigation experience is required, with the ability to manage cases independently from start to finish.
- Experience in environmental litigation or administrative advocacy, particularly under the Clean Air Act, is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills are essential for building relationships and collaborating with diverse clients and partner organizations.
- The candidate should demonstrate initiative, creativity, and a strong work ethic, along with a commitment to equity and inclusion in the workplace.
