- The Counsel, International Compliance will assist the Office of the General Counsel with legal compliance and risk management for Earthjustice’s International Program.
- Responsibilities include providing legal advice on international legal and ethical compliance, data security, and labor law.
- The role involves developing and implementing compliance policies, procedures, and training programs.
- The individual will conduct compliance audits and assessments to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with relevant laws.
- Collaboration with other departments and stakeholders is necessary to ensure strategic alignment of advocacy efforts.
⚡ Requirements
- The ideal candidate will be an attorney with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent non-U.S. law degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- They should have a strong understanding of international law, environmental law, and human rights law, particularly in the Global South.
- Experience in litigation and advocacy in both common law and civil law frameworks is essential.
- The candidate should possess excellent research and analytical skills, along with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
