✨ About The Role
- The Controls Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end development and delivery of controls and automation engineering packages and systems.
- Key responsibilities include developing control narratives, alarm setpoint matrixes, and cause and effect diagrams.
- The role involves preparing and reviewing design packages, including Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Control Philosophy documents.
- The engineer will write PLC control software, design HMI displays, and set up data historians.
- Participation in HAZOPs and responding to plant process emergencies on an on-call basis are part of the job.
- The position requires interfacing with an EPC team and contributing to the continuous improvement of internal processes and procedures.
- The candidate should demonstrate a positive safety culture and ensure that all safety-related incidents are reported and investigated.
⚡ Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in developing architecture automation strategies for PLC facilities is required.
- The candidate should be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in BC or be eligible for registration.
- Strong understanding of PID, FF, and Cascade Loops is essential for success in this role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- The candidate should possess a self-starter attitude and the ability to work independently towards multiple deadlines.
- Experience in troubleshooting PLC/HMI systems and instrumentation issues is crucial.
