- The Carbon Sales Trader will oversee and execute trading strategies within voluntary and compliant carbon markets.
- This role involves developing trading strategies and executing physical trades in compliance with BURN’s trade policies.
- The trader will analyze market conditions to generate value and monitor supply and demand trends to ensure the availability of BURN credits.
- Responsibilities include responding to client inquiries and identifying new business opportunities.
- The position requires collaboration with internal teams, including Carbon Operations and Finance, to improve processes and procedures.
- The trader will engage with internal stakeholders to verify contract terms and negotiate contract provisions for selling.
- The role includes providing periodic presentations to senior management regarding strategy and financial performance.
- The successful candidate will develop and maintain strong relationships with counterparties, traders, and brokers.

- The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary education in business, economics, finance, or engineering, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience in commodities trading is essential for success in this role.
- Experience in energy markets analysis, particularly in carbon markets, will be a significant asset.
- The candidate should possess strong negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, demonstrating an entrepreneurial and commercial mindset.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and experience with CRM software like Zoho or HubSpot are required.
- The successful individual will have a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple account management projects simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in international English are necessary for engaging with senior stakeholders and closing deals.
- A passion for BURN’s mission and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple country offices and departments will be crucial.
