✨ About The Role
- The Senior ITS Traffic Engineer will lead and manage ITS design projects for various agencies, including NJDOT and NJTA.
- Responsibilities include providing technical oversight for contract documents, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- The role involves mentoring junior staff and assisting with team development, quality assurance, and resource forecasting.
- Candidates will conduct traffic operational and safety studies, traffic modeling, and signal designs as part of their assignments.
- The position requires experience in the design and testing of operational ITS systems, including DMS, CSS, CCTV cameras, and traffic detectors.
âš¡ Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ITS or Electrical Design, with approximately 6 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering is required, with a preference for advanced technical coursework.
- Candidates should possess a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, and a Certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) license is a plus.
- Strong technical writing, computer, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
- Experience with traffic engineering software such as HCS, Synchro, and Vissim is necessary, along with proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation.
