✨ About The Role
- The Senior Environmental Scientist/Ecologist will conduct and participate in natural resource field investigations, including surveys for threatened and endangered species.
- Responsibilities include preparing technical reports of findings and supporting the preparation of permits and NEPA documents.
- The role involves serving as an in-field team leader for junior staff and coordinating with other Authorized Biologists.
- The candidate will be responsible for planning fieldwork and ensuring adherence to health and safety requirements.
- Effective communication of study results to project management staff is a key aspect of the job.
- The position may require occasional work during afternoons or weekends for project monitoring.
âš¡ Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a field related to Natural Resources, such as Wildlife Biology, Botany, Conservation Biology, or Ecology.
- A minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience is required for candidates with a Bachelor's degree, or 5 to 8 years for those with a Master's degree.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
- The candidate should possess excellent technical writing, computer, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with regional flora and fauna is important, as well as experience in identifying waters of the United States, including wetlands.
- Experience as an Authorized Biologist for Mojave Desert tortoise surveys is preferred.
