- The postdoctoral appointee will conduct research and modeling-based analysis of decarbonization pathways for energy- and emissions-intensive industries.
- The role involves developing analysis insights critical to strategic technology RDD&D investments at federal and state levels.
- The candidate will utilize a range of tools including process and thermodynamic modeling, life cycle assessment, and techno-economic analysis.
- There will be opportunities for additional model/tool development based on sponsor needs and the candidate’s expertise.
- The position may involve application areas such as low-carbon fuels, electrified manufacturing processes, and carbon capture & storage.

- The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in mechanical, industrial, chemical engineering, or related fields.
- A strong technical background in manufacturing engineering and industrial ecology is essential for success in this role.
- Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in oral communication and technical writing, evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
- Experience working on interdisciplinary projects will be beneficial for this position.
