✨ About The Role
- The Senior Airframe Design Engineer will be responsible for designing primary and secondary aircraft structural parts and assemblies, both metallic and composite.
- This role involves working closely with team leads, suppliers, and engineers throughout the entire product development process, from prototype to high-rate production.
- The engineer will assist in developing standard methodologies for airframe design and apply design for manufacturing concepts to create cost-effective and easily fabricated designs.
- Supporting manufacturing to ensure the successful build of the airframe and its integration with the aircraft is a critical aspect of this position.
- The role requires collaboration with various engineering disciplines, including design, stress, and materials and processes (M&P).
âš¡ Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field with a focus on structures is essential for this role.
- Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience working with lightweight structures in aircraft, spacecraft, or other high-performance vehicles.
- Strong CAD skills, particularly in Siemens NX, are necessary, along with familiarity with Solidworks, Catia, or Creo.
- An understanding of load paths and the fundamental mechanics of composite materials is crucial for success in this position.
- The ideal candidate will have practical experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and design for manufacturing of composite parts.
- Strong communication skills, both written and visual, are important for collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage projects effectively are key attributes for this role.
