- A minimum of four years of high school or vocational training is required, along with post-secondary vocational or technical training.

- The successful individual will be a self-starter who thrives in a team environment and can work with minimal supervision.
- Experience as a journeyman lineman, preferably five to seven years, is highly desirable.
- Prior supervisory experience leading bargaining unit staff will be an advantage.
