✨ About The Role

- The intern will support the development of new protection and control technologies for future grids that incorporate increasing inverter-based renewables and storage. - Responsibilities include developing hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing plans and models for protective relays, controllers, and sensors. - The intern will investigate and deploy communication platforms and protocols for centralized and edge control applications. - Conducting power system analysis using software such as PSSE, PSCAD, CYME, DSA Tools, and ASPEN/CAPE will be a key part of the role. - The intern will develop statistical and analytical models to predict power system parameters and analyze grid-enhancing technologies. - Collaboration with various utility departments will be necessary to ensure project success and assist with new equipment and technology evaluations.

âš¡ Requirements

- The ideal candidate is a second-year Master or PhD student or higher, preferably with an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology. - Strong academic performance and attention to detail are essential for success in this role. - The candidate should possess excellent organization and presentation skills to effectively communicate technical information. - Familiarity with power flow equations, symmetrical components, and power system stability is highly recommended. - Proficiency in power system analysis and control simulation software will be beneficial for the tasks involved. - The candidate must be proficient in at least one popular computer programming language to support various engineering tasks.
